A story of successful surgery.
19 year old female patient, admitted with complaints of pain in right lower abdomen and vomiting. USG findings were suggestive of intussusception. Clinically it was not like intussusception. So decision to perform diagnostic laparoscopy was taken. During laparoscopy there was no intussusception seen. But there was Lump noted in caecum. So laparotomy performed and right hemicolectomy i. e. removal of distal ileum, caecum and colon up to half of transeverse colon performed. Patient fully recovered after 5th day and got discharged. The specimen revealed a tumor at junction of ileum and caecum causing obstruction. Biopsy report suggestive of low grade spindle cell neoplasm.
