Are you suffering from bleeding per rectal bleeding?

All rectal bleeding is not due to piles!

Rectal bleeding may be due to

• haemorrhoids
• anal fissure
• anal abscess or fistula
• diverticulosis/diverticulitis
• inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
• ulcers
• large polyps
• Cancer of large bowel
Generally, people younger than 40 who whose rectal bleeding is from an obvious cause, such as haemorrhoids, don't need testing. However, many doctors recommend tests such as a colonoscopy for people older than 40 to rule out any possibility of also having cancer that's contributing to the bleeding.
In some cases, rectal bleeding can be a symptom of a serious disease, such as colorectal cancer. Therefore, all rectal bleeding should be reported to the primary care physician. He or she can do a rectal examination or order tests like a colonoscopy to determine the cause of the bleeding.
Make an appointment to see your doctor or earlier if the bleeding worries you or
• A persistent change in your bowel habits, including diarrhoea or constipation or a change in the consistency of your stool
• Rectal bleeding or blood in your stool
• Persistent abdominal discomfort, such as cramps, gas or pain
• A feeling that your bowel doesn't empty completely
• Weakness or fatigue
• Unexplained weight loss
• if you have rectal bleeding that lasts more than a day or two,
This could be due to cancer. You need attention and may undergo colonoscopy. For consultation and colonoscopy call at Pawar Surgical Hospital. Hadapsar, Pune on 9112220434, 020-26993965. We also perform surgeries for all types of cancers.
