The Pancreas is a part of digestive system and endocrine system,located behind stomach. It secretes digestive enzymes and Insulin. Inflammation of pancreas is pancreatitis. It is commonly caused by alcoholism, gall stones. Repeated pancreatitis may cause atrophy of gland. Sometimes pancreatic calculi are formed in the duct. Traetment of pncreatic calculi is done by endoscopic retrograde cholangio- pancreatography (ERCP). Sometimes it may need surgery by anastomosing small bowe to pancreatic duct( Lateral pancreaticojejunostomy).
